Importing a yacht

My wife & I are moving to Qatar in October, for 3 year assignments (we will both be working). We have a 26ft sailing catamaran, which we could ship over too.

I had a look around on our visit last week, and I saw that mooring, sailing clubs and other facilities exist, but are limited.

So, I need to ask if anyone on this forum knows about, or has experience of:

1 Importing boats into Qatar, are there restrictions like the 5-year rule with cars (the boat is 15 years old, but in good condition)

2 registration of boats in Qatar, does it exist, and what is involved?

3 insurance, can it be obtained & is it expensive?

4 other regulations around owning and running boats that might affect our decision of whether to bring it in or not. (I already know enough not to sail into Iranian or Saudi waters...!)
