Driving Licence and Eyesight

I am about to apply for my driving licence. I wear glasses 50% of the time and contact lenses 50% of the time. Should my picture show me wearing glasses or contacts?

Thanks for your input Oryx. So it's only a distance test then is it?

I have the lowest grade glasses possible - i used them for watching football matches and night driving.

I don't have perscrip sunglasses.

I had no problems with the eye test at all.

They just wanted to know I wasn't as blind as a bat.

I'm a little short sighted, but I'd prefer not to be listed as requiring glasses as I don't have prescription sunglasses, and I find the idea of wearing contacts is too weird!

So what is it exactly they do during the eye sight checks? I'd like to have an idea of what I'm going in for....

Thanks.

I wear glasses, took the test, couldn't read most of the numbers or letters and they still passed me. The woman said I should have been wearing glasses in the pic, but passed me anyways and just said to wear my glasses when I drive.

The best thing to do is to wear your glasses 51% of the time and contact 49% and take the picture in your glasses or vice versa.

glad to be of any help

also a section in the book "If the sun doesn't kill you the washing machine will" that describes the author arriving for his eye test when it was undertaken in a portacabin. The cabin had a deceptively high step and he literally fell into the cabin.

The Sudanese Dr leaned over his desk, baton in hands and said "can I help you" to which the author replied "I have come for the eye test".

The Dr responded with "Not a very good start is it?"

that I read about the guy who was blind in one eye but when he did the eye test he covered up the bad eye twice but using different hands, and came out with a piece of paper saying he had perfect sight!?
