I am on the point of moving to Qatar and I do not know if I should bring Dollars or Euro with me? Could you help me? Do you know how the first visit at the airport looks like? Am I going to spend hours there? I am EU citizen.

Don't bring alcohol or pork products in.

Bring foreign currency in dollars as it is fixed rate.

Bring international driving license.

Come with an open mind and ready to face the heat!

Advanced welcome to Qatar :)

Thank you for your help. I am going to work in Qatar and stay in Doha for at least 1 year. Do I need to know something important before arrival? I would appreciate for any advice.

You're moving to Qatar and you're going to spend hours at the airport? What are you going to do there?

If you are coming here to work or for a holiday, it doesn't matter what currency you take with you. You will still need to exchange it to Qatari rial. And my advice to you is don't have it exchanged at the airport or at your hotel, where you are going to get low rates in either case. Once you're here, find some local money changers for you to get a fair exchange for your currency.

Bring dollars. The rate is fixed at 3.65Try to get off the plane as quickly as possible as the immigration queues can be horrendous especially if more than one flight has just arrived! It can take up to an hour to clear the airport on a busy day.
