could landlord cancel my rent contract

By one guy living ... •
I just signed a new contract (end of october). it's a new building which is now half full but today we all received a letter from the landlord asking us to evacuate to a new place he is offering us at 500 QR cheaper but of course a crapy one. the reason is that the owner of the building has cancelled the contract with landlord because he found a better deal. Do we have to evacuate we all have signed contracts and we gave checks for one year. and if we do have to leave how much time do we have. and what about what we had to pay to settle in like deposit for utilities and all other small expenses you pay for moving??? Thanks
Dude,
Dont worry they cannot do anything since the Contract already signed by your Landlord. if they force to do, then you can launch a case against him, the court will take care of everything, dont get panic.
all d best
One more suggestion... Our building formed a "tenants association" and met with the owners/landlords involved. If you all hang on to your units and refuse to leave you'll have much more power than if you all deal with it alone.
Legally they can't evict you for that reason. The issue is between the owner and the manager don't allow them to put you, the tenant, in the middle of it.
Oh, and you might want to change the locks just in case... :)
That happened to us-- kind of. Just wait it out, that's what we did. You have a valid contract and the owner is going to have to deal with that.
