Accompanied Spouse or single type contract, any advice greatly appreciated

Hi All,
Should I change my contract type to single instead of bringing my wife under “accompanied spouse”, my wife will be working as a teacher in Qatar so would this be a better option to make sure we both get the best benefits out of her job and mine or does it not matter and should I leave it as accompanied spouse?
I am a tad confused on this so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
See you guys in Aug 2012...
Chet

You will find that even if you come in on separate "single" contracts that each of them will state that if you are married and your spouse receives separate benefits from their employer that you cannot duplicate benefits (i.e. 2 accomodation allowances, 2 sets of tickets home, 2 whatever) you will have to use one or the other, not both.

And if you think you'll be able to fly under the radar, I've known couples who did so, ended up being caught, and having to repay substantial sums to one or the other employer. Not worth it.

Most companies here give more benefits to their employees with acompanied family. better take your wife here anyway she also is working here.

If she gets a job with benefits they will be taken away anyway if they know she is married to someone working in Qatar. There's no "double dipping" that I'm aware of here.
