Soniya, you have a prejudice against Islam and Muslims. this is not the first time we have noticed you poke fun at issues relating to Islam.

This very same question asked was asked by this very same guy on 10 June and was referred to a brilliant site on the topic. I think most of us would be surprised to know what more this questioner wants to know abt nikaah.

Actually i did read few sentences mentioned in the beginning but not the full part.

I wasn't having ne intention to hurt the sentiments of others..I wasn't knowing that GOOGLE has some false information about some crucial topics..

Other QLers, kindly don't go thru my link that has been pasted above..thnx...

Soniya,

Be careful while posting links in the public forum. The link given in your post is not from any of the islamic scholars and therefore is not authentic at all.

I agree with your next post saying that the meaning of 'nikah' is not marriage. Yes, literal meaning of Nikah is not marriage. Nikah, as posted by other QLers means the marriage agreement or marriage contract. There are some conditions and prerquisites for it and the contract is normally verbal. However, due to need or necessity, it may be done through writing or signing.

The explanation given in the first link seems blaspemous to me.

There is a word in Arabic that correctly translates "marriage." It is "zawag."
