What to do to get a banking job?
I'm a banker with 5 years experience as a teller, studied credit analysis at HSBC Egypt, worked in corporate banking for a few months. I moved to Qatar after I married & I'm currently a resident here under my husband's sponsorship. I've been looking for a job for 6 months, I applied to each & every bank in Qatar, registered in Gulftalent & bayt, applied to every suitable vacancy I could find on the net. I didn't get as much as an interview. I see banks opening new branches, so they definitely hired tellers & I don't think all were Qatari. What more can I do to find a job? Is it really a matter of connections???? Anyone has any idea, or can help in any way??
if you didn't have even 1 interview, it means something wrong with your CV. Review your CV, make sure it catches attention, highlights both education and experience relevant to the position. Pay attention on the format and compiling data. I personally don't like too much decorations on the CV. And what I hate most of all is the CVs longer than 3 pages.
