Vivir en Doha/Living in Doha

My wife (lawyer) has received an offer to work in Doha. The offer is very interesting and we are thinking seriously move there. I own a e-learning services company which could lead from Doha. I have several questions: How is life in general in Qatar for the no Qatar people? How is the cost of living compared to Europe or Spain for more specificity? Is there venture capital culture to start projects from there?

Saludos,

We have been living here for one year and can tell you some things about Doha. First off, If your wife is going to get a job here make sure that there is a good housing allowance or free accommodation as renting here is very expensive.

Doha (Qatar) is a fairly safe place to live exept for the driving as they are locos here on the roads. There's not much to do here in the way of activities but there are some good places to go and museums, restaurants, shopping etc.

As it's your wife that will be working, you will sponsored by her to live here. I would suggest you check with the embassy if you want to run your e-business from here.

If you have any questions, please froward to us and we will try to answer them for you. In return we have some questions about Spain if that's where you are from?

Regards,

Viv and Mireille
