I know this is an old post but just in case people see this, I've got a 4 bedroom villa (it's seperated not in a compound) so that means extra privacy, and it's 2-300 meters from Aspire park and the lake :)

It's for 14k and comes semi furnished

(yep I'm going to post this on the classifieds soon)

Ayman, or anyone, if you're a girl and you're looking for a roomate and have a place at a resonable (Ha ha) price, than I might be interested. Or any resonably priced 1 bedrooms or bachelors? I'd live with a male roomate but I thats against the law.

I didn't find a villa but I do have a 2 bed flat. I am likely to be away for a few months (on and off) with work so you might like to look at that if you haven't found anywhere

this is exactly the information i was looking for, just one question, do you know if it is possibile for a man and a woman to share the dagoc housing if they are not married? thanx.

Hey Andrea,

Don't want to sound like a wet blanket but the chances of finding a villa on anything less than a 1 year lease are virtually zero, and even if you did the price would be incredibly high compared to the DAGOC offered accomodation. All the new DAGOC starters are moving into the provided accomodation unless they already have friends out here who saved them a room. On a positive note, the DAGOC flats are apparently quite nice - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms fully furnished, no contract or deposit. They just opened up the 2nd building last week, and I think they're refurbishing a 3rd block for all the people coming in June/July. Don't worry about the two weeks in the hotel though - if you put your name down for DAGOC accom. you will be able to stay in the temporary accomodation until they have the permanent flats ready.

If you want any more info drop me a line at [email protected]

See you soon!

Andy

Hi Andy, What do you think of Wakra. How far is the commute into Doha. We are not much into the night scene so don't need to be in the thick of things. Living with Qataris would not faze as as we live in a predominantly local area in Dubai. What sort of prices are they and what sort of villas are there. Do you still have the agent's contact? many thanks.

Cheers,

Andrea

Andie I know... I would love somewhere by the sea but they are not that into seaside living here. i even looked down in Wakra ( the next town down) but there isn't a single house on the seas there (some near but they don't even have windows facing it).

Can't think of anything better...windsurfer and kiteboard in the garage and a walk to the neach. Awesome

Unfortunately think I am going to have to stay in my flat

Don't get so depressed - you are not alone when it comes to searching for accomodation. Any chance of pitching an aircnditioned tent on those beautiful beaches!

Honestly trying to find a villa here is one of the most miserable experiences of my doha life. The agents don't return calls, miss appointments, are an hour late for appointments etc. Clearly this is a sellers market so they don't need to bother with customer service but still.

I will look for a couple more days but have not found anything worth living in yet.

Hey all,

I have finally got my work contract signed and sorted to work with the Asian Games. I will ne heading over at teh end of may. I have accomodation for the first two weeks but will be keen to share if people still looking to share house / villa. I lived in china for 6 months with 6 people from 6 different countries and it was awesome. Anyway, let me know what's happening in Doha. Will be keen to meet all when I arrive. certainly sounds like there is plenty of interest for some good parties in the not too distant future.

Cheers,

Andie

Super,

I fly in early Saturday morning. I have the first two weeks accom sorted, and will try to stay in touch with you with you so we can hopefully sort something out. The timings sound promising though - I won't have a massive amount of stuff, so your plan could work. Drop me your number on my Hotmail address (above) and I'll get in touch sometime next week.

Branston I am looking at some villas this afternoon are you here yet? James and I are wanting to move somewhere about mid may. How much stuff have you got? I have a spare double room at my apartment which you could have until May which would resolve everything?

James Hawksworth I think the phone number I am using for you is incorrect. I am seeing a couple of villas this afternoon if you are around. Let me know

Looks like the three of you are going to have a lot of fun. Don't forget to post an invite in QL everytime you do a BBQ by your pool. :)

Super,

Am looking to spend around QR4K per month, although could go a couple of hundred more for the right place. I'm lking the bit about outdoor space with BBQ and pool - I am hoping that it's not illegal to enjoy a quiet beer or two round the pool at your own villa?

I am flying out next Friday, and have two weeks from then to get something sorted out. Drop me a line on [email protected] and we'll discuss further if you're interested.

Branston I am interested. How much do you want to spend? I have to be out of here on 19 May and would prefer not to double up on rent for a month but sure we could sort something out.

Keen on a bit of outdoor space (pool even a little one makes bbqs that much better)

Villa to Share

Yes I have seen these villas in the paper.

Unfortunately Ayman I really don't think my lifestyle is suitable for an 11yo to be exposed to.

Thanks though. If you get anything else let me know.

The villa rent is QR 15,000 monthly and believe me it is very reasonable compared to the other rates and quality in the market.

And yes she will have to bring her son :)

I have a very good deal for you...

I have a very nice specious 4BD villa with private swimming pool and two big living areas SF with white goods, maid room, washing room, shaded parking in a good location near Qatar Decoration round about.

Also I have a british lady she is coming next thursday and she will need 2bd for herself and 11yo son, she is intresting to share this villa with other western.

This is urgent matter as there is only 1 villa left out of 8 and I am sure you will love it as all the western people saw it and they all like it alot.

If interested please call me ASAP.

Giasi I haven't got the villa yet. I have to move out of my current place in mid may and I am keen on having a bit of outdoor space hence the upgrade. There is no where to buy yet( I have looked everywhere) so still going to be renting.

No aversions really. Non smokers (cos house is going to be) I suppose.

The deal is negotiable depending on how much I spend but it would be normal houseshare (2 people rent/2 3 people rent/3).

Principle being that if I have to pay 6k for a flat I might as well pay 6k for a villa and share.

By getinandstayin• 20 Mar 2006 13:10
getinandstayin

Congrats Super... did you actually buy that elusive villa or you still renting?

I might have someone interested in sharing. Whats the deal? half the villa? a room? and about how much?

And do you have any aversions, for example, circus people, serial killers, estate agents..etc. We all wish to share with 21 year old cover girls with legs that go upto their armpits but reality is much hairier and messier.

Respect

GIASI
