I can tell you about the architect job part. The quality of architectural firms here in qatar is very poor, and the salary is pathetic. There are a few int'l firms that are an exemption to this, however. But the majority of the local firms have no standard, and is unsatisfying professionally. There are no frequent openings, but as always you can get in somewhere if you have contacts. Finding a job is your luck.

My suggesions are

1. Let your husbond accept the offer and let him come first. Let him rent a single room/ shared room and spend some time here and meanwhile let him find a job for you. When you find the job you may join your husbond and then move in to suitable place. It is not difficult to move in to a single roomed accommodation for about QAR 3,500 - 4,000 (my friend got an out house of a villa 1bed, bath, kitchen & small living for 3,700).

2. You come with husbond, rent a place like above. You will have to manage very tightly until you find a job.

Mind you, if you choose the 1st option, you will be able to save some money before you join your husbond, meaning even if you join your husbond later on, you will have something in your hand to spend before you settle down

I think this salary will be ok for your husband only but if he want to keep you also here, then you may adjust to live in a single room which will cost you around QR 2500-3000 a month. Daily food and other expenses around QR 2000/- a month, Transport around 2000. I will suggest you, better to go for it, as you can also look for a job in the meanwhile and then you can shift to a better apartment or small villa.

Don't worry I have seen some people getting only 6000/- having their wife with them.

Well salary offer to your husband is quite low where you have to manage the accomodation on your own..There are many people in DOHA who are managing with a salary of even less than QR 10000 with 3-4 dependants..Since you are also qualified, i would suggest you to look for the job as well to give a helping hand to your husband..

Your baby is too small still..Let him/her a bit mature and then start working...

Follow the link below to get some idea about the cost of living structure in DOHA:

It sounds a lot of money but thinking that you will rent and the cost of living here in qataris high, QR 8,000 is not enough.Tell your husband to bargain in housing allowance coz that's the one expensive here in qatar unless you will rent one room only.

the salary is very very normal (low) if you wanna rent any decent apartment u will need at least 3500-6000 QR depending on the size, and location. the number may sound a lot if you convert it to another cheaper currency, but in fact the living expenses are much higher.

Thanks,
