Have been taking to many painkillers! Thanks for correcting me. Ofcourse you are right Ksarat16. My apologisies. Realise now that the painkillers do have another effect than just killing the pain.

Anjuunni, you will not find a flat for that price. The absolute minimum you will pay for a 1 bedroom flat (really really really small) is QR5500 a month not furnished. And they are difficult to find. For 2 bedrooms the minimum you will pay is QR7500 if you are lucky.

Understandable...

Well the facts are laid out...what has been mentioned is not based on any particular area, obviously the lower end of the rents when you want to live comfortably come in decent areas...

so thats how you have to look at it...unfurnished is the talk here girl, furnished flats can take you a bit more higher...

trust me when I say this, cos I really dont think it can come better from any other person, have been in Bahrain for 14 yrs and then in Qatar for almost 11 yrs...so thats how life goes here girl, have been brought up in Bahrain and then moved to Qatar, now Qatar is rapidly exapnding whilst there is a lot of work, it does cost higher than Bahrain,

so think about it and move, having said all this QR 12600/- is a decent salary no doubt...but savings would depend on totally how you would want to live your life girl...

Cheers...

hi,

Thanks for ur comments....Qchem going to start 2 new plants. He will work for that projects..One  is in Ras Laffan i know.We need flat not in too costly areas but must be in a decent area and ofcourse not in too  rural areas. Also dont need a furnished house because we will get shipping charges and one time furnishing allowance.

here in Bahrain internet charge is only 10 BD and telephone max 3 BD.Utility charges dont exceed 30 BD.

He need a change from aluminium industry. If there will be a huge decrease in savings then we will drop tat.

Firstly very quickly Aisha...freak, who told you 1 Bahrain riyal and Qatar Riyal exchange rate...that is absurd girl, and by the way, it is Bahraini Dinar and for your info,

1 BD = 10 Qatari Riyal, arlgiht as simple as that...

And now Anju, well you are a family of three, a couple of them have already mentioned the status of Qatar...

In simple words, Bahrain and Qatar are like Sky and water in comparison to the House Rents...it might sound too filmy dialogue, but the rents in Qatar are a killer,

Out of QR 12600/- Approx...hmmm, I really wouldnt think of any way in the world to save QR 6000/- for a decent lifestyle...

Having said that, you can always compromise like many other families do, take a s5it looking place share with another family bring the Rent expense down, you can always do that, and like that you will get very crappy places to stay, so a decent accomodation would surely cost you atleast QR 4500/- to QR 5500/- and after that your normal routines of Grocerries (QR 1500/-), Entertainment (QR 500/- if you eat a few times outside in normal places and go to normal cinemas), Telecoms (Internet + Telephones) QR 1000/-, so as you see there are some expenses which otherwise dont exist too much in Bahrain, so thats why with your intention of saving that much naaa not going to happen, you might as well continue in Bahrain, else lower your savings expectations a bit, maybe not QR 6000/- but yes QR 3500/- could be a realistic figure or above all this, freaking ask QChem for a higher salary, and normally Q-Companies do pay good salaries, negotitate them to atleast QR 14000 or QR 15000, which I believe they would pay...

So go for it...anything else, just ask...

And welcome aboard QL...

Cheers...

As friend Althaf mentioned is very clear, it is quite hard to get a descent flat in 4000 range, since he is getting good salary in Bahrain 890, and the rent is 130 only, so you saving around 760 Bahraini Dinars right, which means around 7600 QR.  Think twice before taking final decision...All the Best

The Bahraini riyal and Qatari Riyal are not at par! 1 Bahraini riyal is 100 QAR. This makes a difference in your calculations no.

The salary doesnt seem to be that attractive.. The house rent in Qatar cannot be compared with Bahrain.. My brother is in Bahrain and is paying for a villa which is only 300 BD.. Here you wont get even a 1 BR flat for that rate.. So think before you take a decision..

As you have a small family.. u can manage to get a single bedroom flat for 4000 QR... Electrcity + water will be around 200 QR... Expenses around 3500 QR (depends on your req..).. You can save 4000 QR..

But as you are in QCHEM, which office you will be placed ? is it ras laffan or messaied.. If it is there.. u will get houses even cheaper...

So think..and take a decision carefully..

hi

Good day & hope you are doin well. I'm bit confused with your query.

Anyway, it seems total salary offered by QCHEM is Qr.11500/- and you want to save Qr.6000 out of it.

If so, the rent scenario is worst here in doha, Its quite difficult to find a 1 bed room flat for Qr.4000/- all what you get is a studio for this price and that isn't guaranteed too. Inflation is very high+Greedy landlords+Middle agents it ends up in miserable living... If housing itself comes around Qr.4000/- what about your living expenses, What will happen after an year the rent would be hiked more when your contract finishes.

Think & take a wise decision. Wait for the other QLer's to respond too. Best of luck.
