I'm hoping to join QG soon on Senior/ Married status.
Can some one “working there” walk me through the settling process starting from first day, where will I stay, how long to get the permanent villa, get my family?
The accomodition that company has given right now, is permanent cum temporary. I mean to say, the company has rented a few socities like ours. The final plan is to shift every one to its Al Khor township, after a few years, which is 40km from Doha; midway between QG company and Doha. So there is no website, as such. And the place that WE have been alloted, need not be given to you, so no point in sending you few pics that I have taken also.
I am son of someone who is "working there", in QG, for the last 8 months. So, I will share with you how much I know.
His position, as far as I feel, was similar to yours. When he landed in Doha for the first time, he was escorted by guys from QG to a nice hotel, in the city, as a temporary accommodation. He stayed there for a week or so (and found the food awful, as we are vegges!). Then he was given residence at Seven Pearls, which are low-rise fully-furnished flats. He stayed there for 3-4 months. And finally, on application of family accommodation, the company gave us a Villa at Beverly Hills. It is a 4 room + 1 servant room, duplex villa. Ours is Beverly Hills 6, and its good here. There is also a well-equipped club, which has billiards, pool, gym, Tennis, Squash, etc. We, his family, came here just before a week.
Depending on your post and and all those things, you may get different treatment and facilities, but overall, it seems to be a nice company, which takes care of its employees. If you want detailed info, plz let me know. I will ask my dad.

Cool, are you aware of a web site that carries photos for the villa.. compound ?
That will definitely help convince my wife as she is on the fence when it comes to the whole thing
MMmmm..., we are a family of four. but generally, the house they give is much bigger than you need!!
Thanks a lot gmail272!!
Your answer was comprehensive and to the point.
One question. How many family members are you? Does that drive the number of rooms?
Thanks again for a good answer.
