Taste of high life in dream homes
Tower Four

The Pearl-Qatar has crossed a major milestone with first residents taking up their new homes at the QR50bn state-of-the-art island, owned and developed by United Development Company.
The first residents were handed over the keys to their new homes by senior executives of UDC recently.
The first family took up residence at Porto Arabia on May 1. The handover to other new homeowners is taking place daily and will continue in the days and weeks ahead, UDC said.
The Pearl-Qatar’s first families will soon be welcoming many new neighbours into UDC’s Tower Four and townhouses. The other tower and townhouses developed by UDC will be handed over to their owners progressively throughout the year.
“It has been four years since we purchased our apartment with UDC and we are very happy now that we are moving in,” said new resident of UDC’s Tower Four, Dr Ayad al-Shakarchi, a consultant surgeon who has lived in Qatar since 2004.
“We were all like children waiting for something and it happened. We are not just happy for ourselves, but for all the other residents that will come soon, and for all the people that are already enjoying a Mediterranean lifestyle in Qatar,” he said.
Hailing from some 22 countries, the new residents of Tower Four will all soon be enjoying the luxury accommodations in the “166 lavish apartments” in the Porto Arabia high-rise, as well as the connected two-dozen townhouses in “beautiful Moroccan” design. The new neighbours will enjoy spectacularly sweeping views of the marina and the sea, right from their environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient homes.
All residential units at Porto Arabia are supplied with energy-saving district cooling, and a state-of-the-art waste management system, which will ensure a “comfortable and worry-free lifestyle”.
Prior to the move-in, all safety checks and measures were conducted by The Pearl-Qatar’s highly trained staff, and the Civil Defence.
“There is a real thrill among all the staff members of The Pearl-Qatar as they work hard to prepare to welcome the incoming new residents to their beautiful new homes, said Eric Lebrun, executive vice president (Assets Management) at The Pearl-Qatar.
The Pearl-Qatar is now virtually a bee-hive of activity, as the retail shops are opening. In Porto Arabia alone, where the first residents are now beginning their new lifestyles, there are new cafes and more than 40 high-end shops, including Missoni, Gianfranco Ferre, Stefano Ricci, Hugo Boss, Lacoste and Moschino. Giorgio Armani and Hermes have opened outlets as well.
Service providers are also available on the Island, including bank, a chemist, and a dealer for Maserati and Ferrari.
By late summer, it is expected that 50 more retail outlets will open, including a range of international restaurants. The Pearl-Qatar’s “strikingly attractive marina” at Porto Arabia is now also ready to receive yachts, the largest of which will be more than 200ft. There are already five private boats berthed there.
Apartments in the towers and townhouses at Porto Arabia enjoy a range of facilities, which include a fitness centre with state of the art gymnasium equipment, plus a special aerobics room. A lounge and a Jacuzzi are available around the pool.
The other world-class facilities at the island also include an entertainment room, deluxe banquet room and children’s playroom.
In the coming months, many special events have been planned to “showcase the wonderfully idyllic Mediterranean-style waterfront living that awaits new or potential Pearl-Qatar residents”.
