Hey guys!

I am going to the city of Romance on my birthday next month, any suggestions/inputs on what places to visit/activities besides Eiffel tower?

I made some research but I would love to get some good feedbacks about the city, what to expect, what to avoid and what fun things to do.. :)

Please, please dont spoil these thread, if anyone here has been to Paris, please do share your experience...

Thanks much. :)

I think everyone has already said the main tourist places...avoid restaurants on the main roads or in touristy areas, walk down side roads to find little restaurants, the food usually tastes better. Restaurants on the main drag generally cater for the masses and don't taste as good. Paris is beautiful, try to walk as much as you can and be careful on the metro at night.

at the outset, advance wishes for a very happy birthday. Paris is a very beautiful city, very romatic and beautiful in the extreme. London is beautiful too in a different way. I love the old traditional lush green beautiful London. Paris is more modern and has wider roads and probably the most romantic city in the world...While I love both cities, I do know some who dislike London for personal reasons...

Coming to your Paris tour... ofcourse Eiffel, but theres so much in Paris beyond Eiffel. Just walking along Champs Elysees gives you a high. The adrenaline rush is something that cant be described in words. You can spend two full days just soaking in and disovering the wonders of Champs Elysees. Apart from shops, operas and theatres you have fine dining options.

Just walk down from Arc de Triomphe and enjoy the beautiful city.

Le Louvre is good if you take atleast a full day for it and yet you would have seen hardly anything, its a treasure trove. I know friends of mine who are art lovers who visit Paris and stay there for a month and visit the Louvre everyday and still they havent seen everything ;-))

A cruise on the Sienne is breathtakingly beautiful and romatic.

Paris has several fine dining options, the French love their food.

One beutiful thing about Eiffel is, while you are the second level of the Eiffel, do visit the curio shop where they take your instant picture and cut it into a crystal and illuminate it on a small rotating base. Its a souvenir for a lifetime.

I can go on and on about Paris, please do click pics and visit the beautiful Versailles Palace.

And if you are a shopoholic you would love to go berserk in Paris... Have a great Holiday.

Le Louvre (you'll need two weeks for that), Montmartre, Sacre Ceur, the Marche (Souq), La Pigalle, Crazy Horse, one of the small restaurants that close once the seats are all taken, the jazz cafe on the hill of Montmartre (Django Reinhardt used to play there), Clichy (if you are interested in some 'Quiet Days in Clichy'), the painters all along the river Seine, and I could go on for ages. Enjoy it.

It depends what you like... I for example like the medieval areas Notre-Dame, la Sainte Chapelle and the Isle de la Cite which is the original Paris. And of course the glass pyramid ^_*

I guess The Eiffel tower is a given yeh?

Just don't expect anyone to be friendly tho o_O!

Apparently, Euro Disneyland Paris has banned firework displays.

Every time they set them off, the French tried to surrender.

London is garbage compared to Paris or Rome. Booked a week long vacation in 2010 but came back after 3 days. Miserable place with ugly, dentally challenged people.

Paris on the other hand, full of fine French women and exotic landmarks.

Rome as well, Italian women + fine wine + perfect weather.

Lots of nice restaurants in Paris, Champs Elysee is a shoppers paradise. Visit the large number of parks esp jardin du luxembourg, huge and extremely beautiful park.

Overall Paris is a city you can never tire of. And as they say, Paris has only one match. Rome.

All the hotels will have guided tours arranged, so you can be busy a full day just on the guided tours, they will take you through the main tourist areas.am not able to recollect names of places. Do visit the louvre museum, keep a day dedicated for it, but that's if you like museums, paris disneyland is good as well, traveling around is easy, use the metros, they are quite simple. Never tried the bus, preferred walking instead. One week will just fly.enjoy.

If your looking for an unforgettable dinner , try to book in jules or 58 in Eiffel tower . A great experience ..

buy tickets for touristic bus , i prefer the green one , this will help you to go through all the main sites in Paris , such as louvre , les invalides , opera etc .

Disney land also a nice place to visit ..

Paris is a beautiful organized city , but prepare yourself to be tired if you are going to see everything in the city .

P.S : better to plan your trip before you go there and buy tickets for everything online .

Sous le ciel de paris ... Enjoy
