Is it right not to refund the fee after a person gets Driving license?
quoted From Gulf times, some body asked this question , what is your opinion?
Training
cut short
Dear Sir,
Since arriving in Doha, getting a
driving licence was a top priority for
me but the congested roads, traffi c
accidents and rude drivers plus my
busy schedule always made me fl inch.
In order to build up my confi dence
on the road, my husband then
registered me for a full 40-day course
at Doha Driving Academy even though
I had a licence back home. The staff
was quite polite and presented an
attractive free-of-cost 10-day theory
and simulation class with a paid
40-day road training. But no one
mentioned that prospective students
would not be able to avail of the rest
of their training if they got a licence
before the paid duration, keeping in
mind that my only intention was to get
myself accustomed with the roads.
On the day of my driving test I asked
the Academy’s staff if I could continue
my training even if I got a licence (just
a confi rmation since I had asked this
earlier), to which they replied yes.
And that they did not refund for the
remaining days.
When I passed the test half way
through the course and went to the
school again, the same employee,
however, refused to hand me over my
access card and denied if he had said
anything about continuing the course
after getting the licence. Instead he said
the Academy had new students to cater
for. Why should new students be any of
my problems when I had paid in full?
When my spouse approached the
manager, he did not have any answers.
My husband insisted that the staff
should have explicitly stated this
information before hand, as our only
intent was to practice more on the
road.
The manager, instead of apologising
or taking any reasonable action,
walked out on us which clearly
depicted the lack of ethics in the entire
organisation.
There goes a half fee down the
drain, which is a lot of money for a
big percentage of expatriates living in
Sorry about your experience. I'm reposting this in case you can help:
I failed my L test last thrusday and therefore was not even allowed to move on to the other parts of the driver's test. I've been driving for over 16 years and so I will not take classes as I don't a reason for that. I'm taking the test again this Thursday and would highly appreciate any advice. BTW I was not told why I failed and I honeslty don't think I did anything wrong. If anyone here has taken driving classes please let me know what exactly do they look for. As for the other parts of the test any advice?? BTW this was at Al Rayah School
Thanks
I fee bad for what had happened to you.
I guess this is the case for most of the Driving Institutions here in Qatar.
They obviously lack the sense of customer satisfaction and they think that the responsibility is finished once you passed the exam.
This really needs to be changed
I don't think any driving institute will give more lesson for students who pass the Driving Test
