Ifthar in Masjid

I wondered yday..
There was nothing other than one "Dates" at the time of magrib for breaking fast.
Even one glass of water...!!

All r saying this is one Islamic country,Islamic government.

But why they are not giving priority in Msajid for arranging Ifthar programme(Atleast some fruits and one glass of Juice/Water)??

I am from India.Muslims are minority.
But if u go any masjid(even small) you can get some fruits, food items,Juce or Water..
People are copeting to spend money for ifthar programme.

Y the rich people are not coming forward to arrange some food or Friuts in all masjid in Qatar???

We are staying near Alssad plaza.

If any masjid near to this having Ifthar programme?

Well said Rayes49 & LondonAlgiers.

I'm not Muslim, but I too know of at least a half dozen of these tents in various parts of town. Yesterday evening the one in Wakra had around 10 water tankers parked outside in readiness for the thousands of faithful that would no doubt turn up later.

To the others who say they haven't seen them - open your eyes they aren't difficult to miss!

As a side issue, and I feel we must address this issue - these "bachelors" that are refered to as getting there early, are you sure they are all good Muslim brothers, or are they just there for a free meal?

As the population is increased very sharply, especially the bachelors, there should be more tents to accommodate the increasing number of people, especially low paid employees.

What are you all talking about! millions are being spent by the gov of qatar and many charity organisisations to provide iftar. I myslef saw 3 iftar tents dotted around. Not finding food in the mosque doesn't mean noone is providing it. Instead of being quick to judge, you should ask another question on where you can get free iftar in Doha and I'm sure someone will guide you.

Allah Akbar

Really Surprised to see this Subject Thread...In Fact i thought there would be a discussion generated to discuss about the Wonderful Act performed by The Government in relation with Zakat Fund, some other charities and major donors like Qtel etc....where in theyhave set up 23 massive air conditioned tents across qatar where on eact cay they are catering to 300 - 500 people including all sections of the society..this is not an easy task..it seems the organisers have contracted two famous restaurants for arranging the iftaar food and they have lined up wash basins , big dustbins etc to cater full package for these iftaar attendees....they are sponsoring for the air conditioned tent to be there for the whole of ramadan...generally wen we wanted to organise a product launch in these air conditioned tents the rent was 30,000 riyals ...so just imagine wat budget the organises are going for...i heard the Zakat fund has kept aside 14 million riyals fot iftaar distributions and for all these i think they desere very special appreciation...GREAT WORK..KEEP IT UP

Qatar is lacking of Ramadan Iftar arrangement compared to other middle east countries....

First day of Ramdan I planned to go for Ifter somewhere in one masjid...but when I reached the tent near one masjid in Mansoura it was full at round 5:15 PM and so many people were waiting outside to get chane to join the party.

The leader os the party was telling them today you cannot get in fo ifter and they was desperate.

As bachelors are more here, they donot have other alternative for iftar. Most of the camps are not providing iftar facility adn even cooking ios not allowed inside camp.

It was a desperate seen that these people went ouside and just buying a bottle of water and breaking the fast.

This is never seen in other countries like Oman , KSA or Kuwait...

I beleiev goverment has to think about this and should arrange common tents in vasrious places to facilitate the iftar for bachelor expatriates.

it is the responsibility of the muslim rich to take care of their brothers by arranging iftar in all the mosques in qatar, hope insha allah, allah will guide them to wake up sooner and do the needfull and help the needy.

I guess we do not only have have to go to the mosques. You may find spots where labourers are all over constructing roads and buildings. I went to three mosques yesterday to distribute but could not find anyone needing IFTAR. I ended up a mosque a little far.

You can find a banner in the Mosque, if the mosque is organizing the Ifthar event. I think there is no Ifthar in all the mosque as we would expect back in our countries. Only limited Mosques in Qatar, is arranging for Ifthar. Please check for Any banner in the mosque near by you or check with the Imam.
