Dilipan is the only one with the correct answer. It is by date not by temperature. If it is only 20 degrees on July 10 the law is still in effect - for workers "Under direct sun".
There is a International Law already for that, but most of the companies not following it up due to shortage of manpower to finish their work on time, when there is money minded people arounds there is no Law can be implemented, hope for good
As I believe, the Qatar Govt.has already announced the ban in working hours from 15/06/2009 to 31/08/2009 between 11.30am and 3.00pm under the sun.And this was published in news papers already.

First time to hear this. But I think, this law doesn't happen. I pity the laborers especially those in Ras Laffan. We've been seeing work scenes even if it's very hot.
YES ITS TRUE, BUT WORKING DIRECT UNDER SUN MORE THAT 50DEGREE IS OFFENCE,AND ALSO GOVERNMENT ADVERTISE IN NEWS LAST YEAR FROM 15 JUN08 TO 30 AUG08 FROM 11 AM TILL 4PM NO JOB UNDER SUN.
The law is from 1st June until 1st September. For the last 2 years I know for sure that ALL construction work stopped on the Dukhan to Doha road at 11am and started again at 3pm. the law states that people are not supposed to be forced to work outside between the hours of 10am and 2pm (or something like that) if it's above 50. they get around that law by the "official qatar weather forcasters" always saying its only 49.
