How is a thobe weared?
Hello!
I have always been wondering about the thobe. I have asked many people but they are not certain.
How do they wear this in Qatar where they are common as every-day clothes?
I know that some people wear white jeans and then put on the thobe. But wouldn't that be warm? Doesn't most people wear the thobe in Qatar due to the heat?
Then one day, I read a blog post by a swedish tourist where she had heard from a barber(in Qatar) that some people wear nothing under the thobe(no underwear).This seems pretty reliable as it may be more comfortable to go like that due to the heat. However my question to you know is if this is true?
Because I don't want to have the wrong facts..

Thobe is one of the best clothes ever designed by mankind. It look fabolously nice wearing it. Try it some times. Specially now Eid is coming, so it will really be nice to have one now.

Wearing thobes in Qatar and other GCC countries even in this hot climate is due to traditional dress. bcz our prophet muhammed (peace be upon him) advised us to dress in a modest manner. And more over this is in white in colour (colour of peace) and prophet muhammed (peace be upon him)advise us to wear loose fitted dress which shud not show the shape of our body. so most of thobes are very loose so its according to his teaching too. Then its realy a sacrifice that thoubes for males & hijabs for females are wearing here even in hot climate. its only because of ISLAMIC teachings. No one is compeling or forcing them to wear those Thobes & Hijabs but they are ready to do by themselves as the ISLAM reflects in their hearts masha allah. See how ISLAM is bueatyfuly refelecting in a persons life. Like this ISLAM teaches in every sectors of life. While eating fud, while walking, while talking, while sleeping,while entering toilet, while coming out from the toilet while dressing, while working. And A-Z moments in our life. And a person those who follow all these things will benefit both. one is his daily needs is fulfiling and the second one he/she is geting rewards from God. If a person eats his food according to ISLAMIC teachings means, as usual his hunger wil go and also he wil be rewarded by allah. So what ever he/she is doing as per the Humans Life Guide (Holy Quran)is a worshiping of God and also he/she is fulfiling his/her daily needs. And in Quran allah says its a real guide to the humankind,So what ever ISLAM teaches the human kinds, definetly it hv gud point and a good tips/solution the Humankind.
May almighty allah grace all of us and lead all of us in a true path.........

We wear our own type of underwear - The "sirwal". Go get/look at some from souq waqif.
It depends on where you hail from. If you are an Arab the thobe is not really weird! But if if you are not accustomed to seeing people wearing this thobe ie if you are new to the GCC then it is really weird.
