I'm heading out to the souqs for the first time and wanted to get some tips on bargaining. I've heard I'm not to accept the first offer and should counteroffer with quite a lower price. I'm rather intimidated, though. Any tips on how to do it right (getting a good deal without offending)?
Well my QL friend, let me tell you one fact, most of sellers are easy going with Nationals bargain, so if you want to be more seriose to try it out try to wear male national uniform (thobe).
I had an eygptian friend who tried to bargain few months back and she faild 'cause sellers know for sure they deal with whom.If you have a Qatari friend that you can go shopping with for the first time will do you good 'cause you will learn live how to manage those sellers.
Small tip,
If you were offered for example 100QR for an item try to take it for 60 QR the seller will give you anew offer 85QR and then you should increase yours for 70QR Max.
Keep in mind that when ever you reach the price that the seller wont decrease you should stick with it and buy this item.
hey will give u some useful tips for it. try diff. shops and c the rates . automatically u get the idea, wht the rate is supposed to be. and wht rate u can start ur barginning. this is woman secreat of shopping. y u think women love it????
The price quoted will depend on the color of the person and if the smell fresh blood it might go way up so the best thing is dont buy in the first shop check in a couple of shops and gauge the way they will talk to you also good is to take with you an Indian or Pakistani and let them do the talking
they will say this is for you special price for you and blah bla blah then you quote your price if they accept fine if they dont just walk out they might start screamin come and take it

Hahaha good question, I always bargain 20% from the price they offer then usualy you will get about 10% less from the original price. If you bargain too much, You will not get what you wanted becoz, all the shop have the same price when you ask. Meaning, they all have set up among them for their selling price of each goods. I tried and at the end, I just get tired for walking around and not get anything lolz. experiance taught me not to bargain too much and I used to came back to the first shop that i went first for a good offer. Good luck man
