Is this a good package for Qatar?
By energy.spike •
GBP 60K+comprehensive medical+annual air tickets for a family of 3 (other spouse will initially be non-working and the kid is of school-going age).
The above package is all-inclusive. No other allowances (schooling, housing, etc.) will be provided.
Is this a good package on which we can survive and perhaps even save some cash?
Thanks.
Yeah I'd agree. You can certainly save alot, but the lifestyle here is frankly not very good. So the question is, at what price do you sell your soul?
what kind of position are we talking about?
It does not sound like a lot when you have to think about housing and school + car + + +
If it's a senior position in oil or so - forget about it
- I took the blue pill and found myself alive in Qatar - wish I had taken the red and stayed in Europe
U can avail of medical facilities at 100 riyals per year per person by getting a health card .........
my son in year 1 ... goes to english school in DESS, the term fee QR 7500 a term and go up 10 percents yearly. Sometimes more with the permission from ministry of education.
for nursery cost about QR 1700 and up a month.
Thank you for your comment. Just to clarify, it's GBP 60K net, not gross. So it works out to around 32K QR per month. However, as I mentioned, no other benefits are provided (apart from medical).
If you are from UK, assuming same would be your gross salary then your net would come to around GBP 40,865.88. Housing is expensive here, but considering the tax element in UK, it should be more then enough to cover for it. Depending on your life style, you should be able to save signifcantly. You should be able to get a decent villa for around QAR 15,000 per month. School I have no idea.
