Finding a Home

Have you all noticed lately how greedy the houseowners are getting? Of course you have... The question is, will the Qatari government be planning on doing something against the high rents or risk losing the locally hired people? How are you faring? Is your company paying for you since you were hired oversees, or are you also spending more than half of your paycheck to pay the rent?

The government is working hard on the law, also don't forget that within 6 months big number of the buildings will be finished, so supply will increase + new law. I think rent will be reduced by (at least) 25%, but tell you the truth, I think that thiers a real need for a change in the way of spending on rent. I mean the market have two kinds, one whom the company pay directly to landlords, while the others get paid by employees whom they negotiate by them selves ... see gulf-time: most prefers to have a (one company deal) ... I think this is the real problem. If these companies stop paying directly to landlards then the market powers will work and real prices only will be accepted... I think its coming, simply when these companies start to understand that if they give market powers the chance, then they will reduce their costs due to the reduction in the rent cost, which will lead to lower inflation which simply mean more powerful Real = more real profits.

Lets keep cool ... things gona get better ... think about it....

May God Save our beautiful Doha.

as mentioned in other threads, a penalty is going to be introduced to landlords who leave their homes vacant for 6months or above.

I'm Qatari and QIA (Qatar Investment Authority) only pay 3,000 for me. (Legal Department)
