expensive accommodation

do you think accommodation in Doha is more expensive than London, New Yourk Or pAris? I wonder why property owners prefer for their accommodations to be empty rather than rent it at a reasonable prices? and how can anyone afford a decent place to live in Doha? and what impact does that have on growth and prosperity?

dear friend, the rent apparently down compared to before and is stable now but though the commercial villas has to be vacted by end of this year the new buisness proposal by the emir for 100 % of ownership rights have invited lot of foreign companies in qatar which will increasse the expats also there are demolishion of different areas like the entire musherib which has got more than 40,000 in population the rayyan area which has got second most population in qatar along with doha jadeed and and mughalina, najma all are under the observation of goverment for demolition and even all those buildings which are more than 20 years old have to be demolished in qatar if you want you can take a look at Al Nasser area and Al Hilal wher ther are old buildings alredy started to be demolished also check in najma behind gulf cinema ,the main reason why the rents went up in 2006 was due to demolision of bidda and rumailah now it is back in qatar with population already coming up with the recession coming down the landloards have been just waiting for this opportunity so those few villas and the matchbox shaped barwa accomadation will be just a drop in the ocean compared to the housing shortage expected to come by the begining or end of this year so what i say is the rents may just dip another 3-4 % afterwards you can expect anything ,the rates which you see now must be the best. also all those infrastucture projects by the govt which where on halt last year has already began which will have a huge impact of increasse in expatriates like the doha metro and qatar bahrain friendship bridge is also about to begin

The rent have to be reduced atleast by 25%. Expecting that will be cheaper as the govt already informed the business people using the villas to move on to the commercial buildings... May be rent will be down by the end of Oct or Nov. as the last date given is Nov.
