Enough to live comfortably?

Just wondering if 8000-9000 QR is enough to live on comfortably for 2 adults. This is a disposable income eg. rent and utilities have been paid for. The only thing this 'extra' money would be paying for would be a car, petrol, food, internet and tv. Do you think after that there would be anything left over for shopping?!

You know, Ksarat, Gypsy Gal is a real practical kinda girl. See, Benic has asked this question on 5th July. Gypsy Gal actually started very generous shopping after that and after a lot of R & D she came to conclusion that even 4500 QR is not enough for a month.(well for half month)..Her husband told me the story behind the story...lol

Ladies...looks like u both r building up for shopping bills on someone...i hope Benic...that Xtra money is for u and not for the 2 lovely ladies here right...

But still if u really cant get thru with that money at the end of the day..u can always count on me...to do the honours...

Benic on a much serious note....dont u worry buddy...as shreeya said 2500 shud take care of all the thing u said...excl the car installment...with that in there...u still will have a lot to shop around...by the way...what kind of shoppin u in for,,,,i hope not the festival kinda shoppin...

I wish I only spent 2500 QR a month!

You must take into account the types of food (for example) certain nationalities enjoy. Benic is form NZ, and as such they may not restrict themselves to Arabic or Indian etc foods, which do tend to be cheaper than the imported stuff.

I'll give you an example...... Basmati is a staple in my house; but when I have to make a good Italian risotto, I buy Carnaroli Risotto rice....... 35 QR a kilo!

Benic, you'll be lucky if you spend less than 2500 QR on food alone in a month. It really depends on your lifestyle.

A car payment is 1000 (decent sedan) - 3000 (suv) Rent, 800 - 2200 installments if financed.

Internet and phone 300QR approx

Showtime 200QR approx

Personally I think it's a little on the low side; if your intent is to save.

Good luck. :)

0ooopssss!

I really missed the rental/installment here. I thought only about petrol.

Benic please add at least 1500 QR for installments.

Shreeya dont you think its less? for the car..rental or installment will itself cost 1000 to 1500 (smallest car) plus petrol plus food. plus utilities... don't think Qr.2500 will be enough. I think it will cost around QR.4500/month.

Benic still its enough for a family of 2.

Benic,

In 2500 QR you can easily manage Food+Petrol+Internet+telephone+tv+occasional hotelling (say 4-5 times) per month.

See how musch more you are left with for shopping.....so come and enjoy life..All the Best!!
