A5- (man dentist) it was really painful, heartbreaking, horrible, unforgetable experience...he is in a hurry, while treating my tooth he is dialing a phone and talking to her assistant in arabic as if he is saying that he is tired of doing it... im not satisfied at all.... so i get a number again and try a new dentist.. this time its a girl... by the way... i go to a health center under hamad hospital... the girl dentist removed the filling and she told me that my upper gums has a filing also... she put anesthesia for me not to feel the pain... she clean up and she told me to have a crown because the damage done by dentist was deep... she is very good and im so satisfied...
A6. i use battery operate toothbrush, mouthwash that has chlorhexidine digclucunate (long lasting.. very good), dental floss
A7-i brush my teeth immediately as i understand that after 20 minutes the bacteria will start eating food debris...im not use to mouthwash only without brushing my teeth
A8-BOTH,, but depends on the person
A9-now my tooth was totally damage by the first dentist after 2 days of filing my tooth ache and i could not have a good sleep... the new dentist told me to have an x-ray for my tooth ... when he saw the x-ray he told me that the nerve is damage already so he suggest for a root canal...
A10- a highly qualified dentist..friendly and understand the patient very well... and who have a patience to a kid... because i had an experience also with my daughter... the dentist dont show concern to my daughter etc etc...

can i also have abrace eventhough i have a root canal???
Hi Dentist
I am moving to Doha in the next few months and am petrified of the dentist. I do go though every six months for my check up and every three months for a scale and polish. I am trying to be a brave girl as I don't want my kids to grow up afraid like I did!! So where are you based in Doha ? Do you have to register or just make an appointment when you need a visit. If its anything like the UK then I'd better make a appointment now to see you in October!! Ha Ha.
You got the best dentist in town here ;) *Grin*
Hi all,
I've been living in Qatar for about 8 months. It's about time I visited a dentist. Can anyone reccomend one?
Kirby
Brushing is always a good habit...don't worry...it's never too much.
About toothpicks...I always say it's a BIG sin to use them...they hurt hurt your gums (Periodontium) horribly.
I have a big grin on my face right now:)
I am really pleased to have someone answering my questions so quickly....thanks guys
I am also pleased becasue I can see most of you here are higly aware of their dental hygiene...proud of you.
Butterfly...having no complaints doesn't mean at all that you have no dental problems...usually by the time you feel the pain this means that the problem has grown beyond just simple filling...so i recommend you just pay your dentist regular visit that won't hurt.
On the other hand i must admire you for your honesty and for brushing your teeth frequently...so keep it up.
JB,
Tea and coffee stains usually don't need bleaching kits to remove them...they could just be easily removed by regular scaling then polishing.
Bleaching pastes are composed of two main ingredients Hydrogen Peroxide and Flouride...sometimes you would also find abrasives if you use regular tooth paste with whitening power!!!
I personally don't recommend bleaching...but I can't forbid it at all becasue in some cases they could be magic..So i recommend you always consult your dentist before you use anything like that.
Home kits are just commercial junk that hurt more than they could do any good.
Finally, the issue of aesthetics (beauty) in dentistry is a huge topic that could take infinite hours of talk...there is always something new every day...I recommend you visit the ADA website www.ada.org for more info.
I hope i helped...i know i talk too much...;) lol
Hi dentist,
This is really embarrasing, but I never go to the dentist. Never. When I was a teenager I had corrective irons in my teeth meaning that I had to visit the clinic pretty often, but once I had them removed I just stoped going. I haven't had any problem with my teeth ever since. I regularly brush them after meals, more than anything because I am vain and like to show a white, clean smile.
I guess one day will wake up in terrible pain and that will make me run to the dentist :(
My fiancee is a dentist ...
Most of the 'tooth whitening' toothpastes - especially the powders, etc - are nothing more than harsh abrasives, which will damage your tooth enamel. Occasional use probably won't make your teeth fall out, but it won't have much effect either. Jif has much the same (+ve and -ve) effects and is much cheaper, even if it doesn't taste too good.
As with most things, you get what you pay for. Home whitening kits (gels) work, but they're not so effective. Why not consult your dentist (not your friend) for professional guidance?
A1. 15th October 2005, Europe.
A2. Not applicable .
A3. Replacing some amalgam fillings for composites.
A4. €1,420.00
A5. Like a walk in the park…
A6. Toothbrush, interdental brush, toothpaste, unwaxed floss & mouthwash.
A7. Brush my teeth and use floss if necessary; I always carry a toothbrush, floss & toothpaste with me.
A8. Both, if they are fully qualified professionals using the latest techniques and equipment.
A9. It is the end to a means of saving a tooth that would otherwise need extracting.
A10. A highly qualified professional who puts the needs of his patient first, who does not charge for unnecessary work, who is update with the latest developments in dentistry.
Answer for dentist questions :
I visit dentise every 6 months, for control and cleaning.
No fear or horrible feeling in the clinic if no other patient DIG thier tooth, that noise kills me.
Use brush and floss after each meal ( too much ? Please let me know )
Never use tooth pick.
Hmm I have one question for right now but will find time to answer your questions soon..
Are the whitening tooth paste harmful to your teeth. I have had a chance to drink too much tea coffee lately cos of friends..so I was afraid the teeth might get de-coloured...so I am using the whitening tooth paste...
My friend who is a dentist also..he says its kinda not good cos it contain strong chemicals...etc etc..i wanted to get another opinion..cos i dont trust him ..heheh...cos i know him from childhood and he was not a good student..:-)..so little dodgy on his dentistry skill...hahhaha..
Thanks..
Fifty years ago, goin to the dentist was a luxury to most people.
Now,going to the dentist is a frequent necessity that only luxurious people can afford ;) ....Sad but true
