I hope at this price 4000/- QR for 2 bed room FF. This real estate agent is not trying to give me shanty.

What do you think is it possible to get flat at this price

Before answering you, I looked at your profile.

The costs I mentioned above are based on common Indian life style according to many people I know here in Doha.

"A ring" is called "Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Thani St" and extends to "Al Diwan st".

They call it the A ring road because it is the closest main road to the Cornish street, forming a semi-ring.

The closer you get to the airport st (Al Matar st), the cheaper the apartments...

Thanks dear you have been gr8 help. Yes i will need school. DPS , BPS , MES all are in the range of 1000 per month. Can you please advise where is A-Ring road. I want to check distance from office on maps.google.com

It is ok not to save money for 1st 6 months as it is considered as settling down period in my mind.

This is not the first time i am moving to other country. So, i understand the conditions which i might encounter. But to experience a new place it's worth isn't it. Life's short :)

Thanks for positive response as most of the people on this site think 20,000/- is what you need to come to qatar. I think this seems to be western life style.

I also wrote this in my 1st answer and it did not appear:

If you need schools, you have to pay more depending on school type.

So you should save at least 25% of your salary if you don't spend much money. You may even handle 35% in some months when nothing unexpected comes up as you can see from the previous costs.

Now, you decide!

Wishing you the best.

I don't know why my entire answer did not appear above?! I also wrote this:

You can rent a car for 1500 QR, but if you can get a bank loan, you can buy the same car paying only 750QR per month to own it in 5 years.

You will spend about 150QR on electricity and water and around 1000-1500 QR on food per month.

So to sum it up:

House rent = 3500 QR

Car = 750 QR

Food = 1500 QR

Elect-Water= 150 QR

Phone = 100 QR

Other costs= 500 QR

---------------------

Total = 6500 QR

i have checked from some property dealers and they r giving 2 bed room fully furnished for 4000/- could this be true. they say it is near A ring road. Which i couldn't find on google maps.

If house is for 4000 than how much are decent daily expenses with no frills. May be dinner out in normal place once in 15 days

thanks

Dear friend,

If you want a straight answer for your question, then YES, you can live for 10,000 QR including housing.

But the real question is: Will you be able to save any money and would it be worth it or not?

Rent prices have not gone down that much, they are down about 10% up to 15%, but no more than that.

You can get a decent one bedroom apartment in Doha in the range of 3500 - 4000 QR.

If you are willing to live in an old apartment in old areas, you can probably get a 2 bedroom apartment for the same price.

You can even try to find another family willing to share an old house by splitting it into two halves (upper and lower floors independently).

Car = 750 QR

Food = 1500 QR

Elect-Water= 150 QR

Phone = 100 QR

Other costs= 500 QR

---------------------

Total = 6500 QR
