Club Membership
I have been trying to find out something about club membership in Doha. What i noticed is that it seems that these clubs are build around the principle of senior and non senior staff facilities. Can anyone pls. tell me something about membership policies - fitness, watersports, social - the quality, and the cost/fees?
Dear bufferfly, thank you very much for your reply. I find it funny that you need to show a sponsor letter to join a club.. Do i need to pay more subscription fees if i earn more money...:)? Maybe i will need to consider the height of my salary..:)
Hi Pakestaak,
Ah, clubs, well, they don't know what they are doing really. Most are very expensive. I think it works like that: The senior fee includes the use fitness facilities and discounts on the spa treatments and sometimes discounts on food and beverage consuptions. The normal fee only includes the use of pool and beach facilities.
You can purchase a membership for a year or for six months only. I suggest you get the six months membership: From May to October, it will be so hot you will not want to stay outside for more than few seconds at the time.
Most have different fees for "Couple" "single man" "single lady" and "family".
There are plenty to choose from, The Diplomatic CLub, Gulf Club, the DOha Club, Al Dana, Sheraton, Intercon, Marriott, Ritz, Four Seasons... I suggest that once you are here you visit each one before making a decision.
In order to have a membership you will need a letter from your sponsor, with your wages on it. Forget about privacy.
I want to get into the DOha Club because it isn't so expensive and they have a library. Emailed them a month ago asking for a membership for myself and my 4 months old baby, price and availability, but haven't got a reply yet. That's how bad the service is here.
Mr. Shaw, if you are reading, please can you let me know? Price of a membership for me (spanish lady, 28) and my baby (4 months old). All we want is to use the pool, beach and library, mornings. 6 months. Thanks.
