Work at Home scam

Hi QLers,
Just to warn everyone of a Work at Home scam circulating on the net in QATAR.

http://newsonlineweekly.com/qatar/finance/

I have been a victim of this kind of fraudulent scheme a few months ago in different website, but with the same modus operandi.

First, they give you a link to their website. Then you have to pay US$50 on Paypal or any online payment method in order to register and make your own personal account (username & password) on their website. They will guarantee that you will get your thousand dollars check within a week.

You start working by logging to your account and copying and pasting hundreds of links. Your work will be like promoting or selling various products (Electronics, books etc.). You salary will be based on how many links you have posted on line.

The moment I have copied and pasted hundreds of links, I felt so confident I would get my windfall of cash in just a matter of weeks but alas, a month have passed away and still no check appeared on my account. Embarrassed, I stopped and sent them an e-mail.

This is bogus data entry scam. Why does some people who discovered a river of gold wants to share it? So be careful. Please don’t try this at home!

$20 hr for any person who has good work ethic! This is a work from home position. This is not at all a “hard sell” and you can realistically make $100-$200 per day in this independent contractor position. WE PAY DAILY. After a few months you will make significantly more. You would be promoting our unique marketing system in a multi-state region.

You will be treated as a sales professional, not a telemarketer. You will be a valued member of the team. We have truly designed this to be a wonderful long-term position for the right person.

Cheers timebandit! Let's set aside the beans. It's Oktoberfest beer season isn't it?

However I knew nothing about work from home in the phils, and commented based upon my experience in the uk. Anyone admitting to being scammed in this way down the pub there would be laughed at all night and probably all week. Indeed from my perspective it is stupidity, but I meant no offence to freindlyme, and will offer to buy him a coffee to make it up to him. Sometimes things are read in a different tone to the jovial manner in which it was written.

you should know first that work from home business is lucrative for people back in the Philippines. I've done this a couple years back when I was without a job here in Qatar...

Unfortunately, unscrupulous people used this to scam other people... and friendlyme is one of those people who got victimized.

timebandit and lucky luciano...you calling people "brainless", "idiot" or "stupid" because they got duped????

talk about smart and "educated" people (with brains)...but lacks courtesy and respect for others....on board...tsk...tsk....tsk...

Friendlme you are an idiot for falling for this, but you must non the less be commended for trying to prevent other idiots from falling for it as well. Anyone bashing friendlyme for having the courage to admit stupidity in an effort to prevent more stupidity is bang out of order. Talk about kicking someone when they are down.

unLucky Luciano is "Boss of all Bosses from Americas underworld. directing its criminal rules, policies and activities along with the other top Bosses"

Well, well, well. You describe yourself here as a villain. Anyway there's no hero without a villain. I'm lucky as usual.

My Original statement still stands.

"You should have used your Brain before paying them US $ 50. You are very greedy and looked for a quick buck. you deserve it"

You are greedy indeed.

People just be careful ...no one should pay any penny for this type scams

is that you've learned (hopefully) your lesson and be extra cautious for quick money schemes. If you see something that asks you money, then that's the time you back out and don't come back.

But if you are still willing to work for an extra buck, where you provide services to people who need a particular skill..why not go to www.odesk.com

I assure you that its not a bogus worksite....

unLucky Luciano and Cherukkan, the story is not yet done. Pls keep on reading.

"Embarrassed, I stopped and sent them an e-mail"

I asked for the refund and they're a bit hesitant. Fortunately they send my 50 bucks after a week.

I'm not a greedy person, I'm just trying to earn extra additional income during my idle time and in a legal way.

By karoly• 7 Oct 2012 10:53

It is common sense dude. Why cant you say to take their 50 bucks from your first check?

most of these kind of frauds are attracted for home makers or housewife as they tell you can earn by sitting in home with PC
