Why does it take so long?

I have been offered a job but the client who is a local business in Qatar is taking ages to confirm my acceptance on the project, is it normal to wait for a long time for this to be confirmed, I have signed up with the European company but the contract is not confirmed until their client agrees so I cannot tell my friends etc. anything yet?

Everything in Qatar takes weeks longer than you would expect.

If you think that this will be intolerable for you, then my advice would be not to come. You will lose your mind in Qatar if that's your outlook.
