RUMOUR: Thursday, Dec 17 a public holiday?
There are some rumours going around that Thursday, December 17, could be a public holiday on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
December 18 is usually a national holiday, but #QND2015 falls on a Friday this time, which is a weekend anyway. I am sure expats and Qataris alike will not be pleased with missing a holiday, right? To compensate for this, the government could declare Dec 17 as a holiday.
This is not official, but just a rumour at this point. But have a look at this tweet.
Alright everyone. This is UNOFFICIAL until the National Day Committee announced this but I've got word that Thursday will be a holiday.

the place where i work has declared holiday on Dec 19, 2015 in regards to Qatar National Day.
just now I got notice from our sponsor to declare the THURSDAY as holiday. I wish all of you will have it soon

& yes its a OFF for us on 17th :D
Its a celebration time, note if Eid comes on weekly off day we are getting additional one day holiday. For this also there should be one day off either before of after.
there will be NO FIREWORKS this time...thats sad :( it was announced on the FM Radio
We don't like such rumours that calling for binding works and projects that suppose to be finish on time .national day holiday is only one day and that day be wherever day is consider as a holiday ,, we have to try to be more productive in our work than to be more productive in Rumours, as we work hard to built a home in our home country , we have to do so also for this country to built it .
One day is too short for any grand celebration like National Day ........... so yes ........ we are waiting for the good news anytine soon ............ we desrve it actually considering our love for the nation ..............
