Road Accident Experience

I just want to share my terrible experience on the road in Doha, and unprofessional works in Garage.

My car got hit a few months ago in decoration R/A by extremely arrogant and rude locals, I went down to see the damage of my car and hear the local is shouting towards me and talking some unpleasant words, I said to him I have my wife and my baby inside which might be hurt and he answer back “Kelewale”. We decided to stay out of the incident area while waiting the police and finally we go to the nearest police station and accepted His fault (Local). We got some Body ache/pain and thank God my baby is perfectly fine.

Later I found out that his Road Permit is Expired and insurance as well knowing that he is a police official in a driving school so he offers me that he will take care of all the repair works with his known garage and I agree without hesitation. My car is laying in Garage with almost 20 days and I spend thousands of riyals for rent a car and every day I visited the Garage to check the progress of the works and yet in the end the repair is extremely un acceptable, Because after few days of using the car out from the garage I found out that the paint is getting cracked or mis-chipped so I need to bring back my car almost every week with their advise and the last time I brought the car there is more worst because the full body of my car is painted with spray. Of all the frustration and disappointments I decided to bring my car in good polish shop to avoid such disastrous works of that garage.

Finally, lesson learned:

1.       As much as possible, do not allow to repair your car in any of the Garage here, if you have full insurance claim it from your insurance and repair it to the dealer.

2.       If you hit by Locals immediately check his valid permit because most of them are not renewing permit. “If you have Gut’s, then file a formal complaint or Case against Him” (optional) you know what I mean.

3.       Always drive carefully and extremely defensively.

If you don’t value your life, at least give respect and value with others life!!!

Have a safe trip All Qlers.

Cherukkan,I found out later the his permit is expired.I cant speak arabic I understand a little only, He is Local and He is a police also, The guy is one of the poor local I believed because he doesn't able to pay in full cash the garage, and he issued checks without fund.He is not willing to pay any cash, reason I agree and I dont want to waste my time filing a case againts him because I believed he has influenced and really not willing to pay cash. just avoiding lots of headache. I'm glad to hear that there are locals with kind heart and professional.

I agree with cheruk.

My concern only is, if the traffic police sit on this case. Who you gonna call now?

Why did you agree to get the car repaired in his garage. If his road permit and insurance is expired it is the job of the Traffic Department to take action. You should asked him to give you money for the repair instead of accepting his offer to get the car repaired in his friends garage.

I had 2 accidents before and lucky me the first 3 words i heard from them - "are you hurt?" and yes they are both locals.about the garage.... they will not fix the damage unless it is written in the police report.
