Resident Permit for kids sponsored by Females

Hi all,

I have recently come to Doha on work Visa but I am facing problem in getting Resident Permit for my son. They are saying that females can not sponsor their family in Qatar. In fact, I would like to know, is there any possibility that my son (age 3.5 years) gets admission in any school on visit visa. I have discussed the similar matter in "Shantiniketan school, Doha" - as suggested in one of the post on Qatar Living.com : The lady on phone immediately mentioned that there is no possibility of getting any admission without RP.

I will be getting resident permit by the end of this year as per Govt. formalities.

Please suggest on same. : Keeping in mind that my husband works in India and its little difficult for him to get job in Doha within one year.

HS, Keep your hopes high, there is solution for everything. Molten Metal , thanks for sharing the thought that '' pride hath a fall '' but who cares about values in the fast life. It is shocking to know that visa are traded for money. Why can't society have complete documents & follow the rules ? R2R thanks for reminding our fellow QLers. Keep up the good work .

Himani, Without RP , it is impossible to get admission in any school .Wish you find a way forward.

Boxbe, has rightly said it.

MM, I heard too where people are favoured but that's rare .

MM, I agree with your observation about someone's qualification above & would like to add that manners are with what we deal in this world not the certificates .

Himani my sister, I have heard people in situations like yours may get positive results if they find somebody from their home country who may request the school management to consider your case as a very special one .... for the sake of your son , my prayers and best wishes .... I wish they would bring in an idiot screen for the visa procedure, QL might be back for the actual people of Qatar then rather than just 2 men who hate women.

Riyal2Rupee , I very much doubt you know more about the procurement of visas or Immigration law in Qatar than me so don't worry dearie, I am an adult very highly qualified very highly employed person who can speak for themselves without a need for an unskilled layman to advise me.

No of course I am not going to arrange sponsorship for a stranger on a website, I work for one of the largest Government organisations in the country in Immigration and HR, I am hardly going to abuse that. Not being stupid and all.

I am also sponsored by my nurse wife. the issue here is parent's sponsorship (either mother or father). now in her case as a mother to sponsor her son? could be very difficult.

It is not true that only the husband can sponsor. However, the wife needs to be the main earner (some companies the sole earner). Combined is generally not accepted.

I have processed several families lately where the wife is the sponsor so I do actually know this, it being my job and all.
