Qatar Labour Office????

Hi Anyone here experience or have knowledge regarding the Qatar Labour Office??

I am planning to go there because my company don't want to give my gratuity they said they don't have money. So I need to wait for months.

But I really want to go home A.S.A.P If I need to wait then maybe It's better to go to Qatar Labour to help me. My Gratuity is not big It is below 9,000 QR you think a company cannot afford this amount?? I don't think so.

My VISA is expired last june 30, 2013 I read this on the Qatar Labour Law

Expiry / termination of the contract
On termination of the service of the employee, the employer is liable to bear his cost of return to his home country, or to any place agreed upon between the parties. The employer shall complete the proceedings of returning the expatriate employee within a period of not more than two weeks from expiry date of the contract.

Anyone know where is the place of Qatar Labour Office because there is a lot of different office. So I want to know where exactly I go for this issue..

Thanks in advance QL members..

The company I have been working (balance food industry) terminated my contract in 5th August 2018 before the date probation end on 22 August 2018.... Since I arrived on 21 Feb 2018. This company have terminated contracts for more than 300 employees before they complete the probation period without any genuine reasons. They recruit new employees same positions every now and then and fire the previous ones. I wonder why Qatar ministry of labour give a blind eyes on this uncouth act. This is ruining people's career when you resign from another company just to come and get exploited for 5 months. Why does the Qatar government gives them visa to bring new employees and they are terminating this is bending the law

That's correct. If you don't have the provision of NOC written in your employment contract, it becomes very difficult to obtain it later.

This is the 1001th time I said this on QL. I can't understand that people still sign contracts without the written statement of provision of NOC.

NEVER sign a contract if the company doesn't state in written form that they will give NOC upon termination from either side. If they won't add it in the contract, you know they won't give it!!

Hi! in my situation, my previous company terminated me without any bad records for the company, they are reasoning due to recession, I gave NOC before I join to them, but now when I am asking to return back my NOC they don't want to give back my NOC to find another job, I am locally hire here in Qatar. What can I do?

In Qatar Law, Article (57)

Upon termination of the service of the worker the employer shall at his cost return him to the place from where he has recruited him at the commencement of the engagement or to any place agreed upon between the parties.

Any other stated law can proof that my employer need to give back my NOC?

Thanks in Advance.

Giving NOC is always negotiable, it is always depending on you on how you will discuss and ask for it from your HR Manager or Sponsor. Laying all your cards especially your dues to the bank will help you, sharing your responsibilities back to your home country, making a drama just to get your NOC. Offering your sponsor an alternative or other employment offer to you from other company might be taking into consideration. Offering not to get any amount from your current sponsor in exchange of having NOC can be discussed discreetly and diplomatically is also another option. All company rules can be broken depending on how you will approach them. In Worst scenario if all mentioned options didnt work, then check it at Labour Office at Industrial area.

For complaints against the companies,by the workers, to be filed in the labor office located on the main Al Attiya Road, Industrial Area, opposite to street 13.

You need to fill up a form, attach a copy of your ID, give them the contact of your company and name of the concerned person like Mandoob or Manager. The Labor inspector (They have sit in labor officers to attend to such problems) would meet you there for looking at your problem, then he would call in the company Manager or Mandoob for listening to the other side of the story and instruct them to clear your dues, less your borrowings, if any.

It is in C-ring Road left side if you are heading Airport (if I am not mistaken) almost near a Gasoline Station.
