For Permanent Visa

Hi,
I have brought my family on visit visa here 2 month before, now I want to apply for the residence permit, can someone help me with the step by step procedure for the same. i am getting different answers from different people.
Also my current salary below 9000 QR, change visit visa to RP possible or not.
@coelacanth, thanks for the information, I will try to make sure that every documents indicates proper profession as three months if need to restart is darn long.
Im sure about the visa but will verify my labor contract.
Would really need that luck for the evaluating officer.
@user1010...you also have to consider the labour contract, as this is the binding agreement between yourself and the company which is being submitted to the Labour Department. If the labour contract stated that you are a technician, but an engineer in your company, it will create another problem. A colleague of mine got rejected on his application due to his Salary Certification stating he is a Sr. Engineer, but his labour contract and visa is showing Technician. He had to undergo a change in profession and waited for almost 3 months before he can restart the procedure.
Also, there have been rumours lately that if a wife giving birth in Doha is not under husband sponsorship, her husband will be detained by CID if the allowance period expired and he still have not transferred her wife's sponsorship. They will be deported back to home country later on. Don't know how true this rumour is.
Good luck on your application.
What is stated on the salary certificate should be the right one. It doesn't tell anyway if it includes allowances.
Thanks coelacanth. Good luck to all applicants, including me..
@user1010...as i said on my post, it depends entirely as this is dependent on the person reviewing it. Way back 2007, it was QR4500 excluding allowances. 2009 changed it to QR7000, and later changed to QR10000. Please refer to this post http://www.qatarliving.com/node/2419685
Let him try the application and see, rather than waiting for multiple opinions. IMHO, it is 10k basic stated in the salary certificate and labour contract, and should be no less than 10k reflected in the bank statement.
Coelacanth, are you sure the QR 10,000 requirement is basic salary? excluding allowances?
I have heard it includes all as some companies give higher allowance to employee with family status.
Not possible, as minimum requirement is QR10,000 basic salary, exclusive of food, transpo and living allowance. You can try your luck with the application so that you can find the answers yourself, but this is what's required. Reason for that is you cannot live "comfortably" with the whole family at QR9000 due to high cost of living.
You're finding different answers because different people experienced different things during the application. It all depends on the mood of who will review your application. Some gets approved at QR5000 salary...some doesn't. Only option is you try it yourself.
Good luck.
