DOHA THE Next Generation Kindergarten and Primary School, the first British curriculum school in Qatar, will conduct Young Learners Examination (YLE) for second consecutive year on June 22.
“Last year 120 students of TNG took the YLE and we look forward to seeing more this year,” said TNG CEO Shagufta Bakali.
TNG introduced YLE in 2012.
Several students of the institution secured five stars in their result. Invigilators of British Council lauded the skills of TNG students.
Driven by the overwhelming response last year and continuous request from the parents of existing and new students, the school has arranged to conduct the test in the school premises.
This will be highly beneficial for the students as it will expose and prepare them for the O level examinations, said Bakali.
The teachers helping the students prepare for YLE will be given formal training at British Council. All the examination papers will be received from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
The tests will be administered by British Council examiners and TNG staff. The completed examination papers will be sent back to UK for evaluation and the results will be declared in September.
Bakali said that TNG understands that education is the passport to all goals important to the world that is why the institution strives hard to put special emphasis on quality education.
“TNG encourages participation in extra-curricular programmes that lead to improved physical and mental health, cooperative learning and team building, virtues that actualise native abilities and interpersonal skills of the students of all ages and abilities.
“TNG promotes skill/sets that make students self-reliant, productive and equip them to successfully face up to the challenges of an increasingly demanding global environment.
“YLE is among one of them where students can develop listening, reading, writing and speaking skills which give children a positive experience of language testing easily, effectively and enjoyably,” said Bakali.
