Finding a job on Tourist Visa

I will be visiting Qatar in the next few months on tourist visa. I am originally from ME but have US citizenship. I have experience in Marketing and IT but applying online proved to be fuitless so far. I see quiet a good number of people stating that they were able to secure a position after being in Qatar for a few weeks.

Anyone has tried this route? How did you get your job?
