Could I have been black listed from re-entering

I worked in qatar with a contracting company for a period of about three and half years as an Engineer. Due to some situations back home I was compelled to go on an emergency leave . Eventhough i had a valid Residence Permit; due to some unavoidable circumstance i could not return to Qatar. Now Its almost 28 months since i left Qatar.

Can i now return to Qatar with a new employer on a fresh visa or could it be possible that i would have been black listed.

Any advise / help on the above query will appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for your replies ...SwissLookerToo, DaRuDe, boss, yv2r, e46m3 and stealth.

Buddies,

I had neither any criminal complaints, nor outstanding loans. Was on good books with bosses.

I was just compelled by circumstances back home and couldn't make it back to Qatar.

Thanks once again for your replies.

YOur old residence permit would have been cancelled automatically.

Unless you have some criminal complaints or something of that sort then only will you be in any trouble. Otherwise everythings going to be normal. You dont even need to contact your old company. Just go ahead and apply whereever you want to. But inform your prospective employer about your previous work in Doha as they will need the details while doing your immigration work.

Did you have any outstanding loans?

I'm sure there are still people you worked with. Ever contemplated contacting them? Not to ask anything specific but to get unsolicited feedback/a feel for things.

If you were in good books with your sponser and also your Mandoop who is the one who interact with sponsers directly in most of the companies are the one who decides ur return.

As i have heard sponsers dosent harm and they are least bothered as long as you are in your limits and dosent get any bad reputation to the sponser,99% of them will lsiten if you have genuine reason, these people hate gossip, backbiting, they want to be trustworthy.

Contact them and give genuine reason definitely sponseror will help, all the best,"Beter late than never"

"As a matter of fact i am too embrassed to contact my old company now because earlier i chose not to return eventhough though they wanted me back . I know it was not ethical on my part to do so but the situations then compelled me to act that way."

If you're going to behave unethically, you can't very well expect people to smooth out your path for you. Sounds to me as though you owe them something. Give it to them and then see where you stand with them.

Only your ex employer can get you here in no time. you need to contact him. because still you need his approval on that.

I think there is much more to this situation than ia being told, the only option you really have is to speak to your old employers, remember they are only on the other end of the phone not face to face, this is the only way you will find out how you stand.

Residency Permits are renewed every year so if you have been away for more than that then it would have been automatically cancelled, the problem you may have is reentering Doha - if you have not given your old company a valid reason for not returning they cannot black list you, they can only do this if an offence has been committed, I am a little confused because they put pics of people with there passport numbers in the paper and i do not understand why they do that - you need to find out if this has happened to you, you would have got an exit visa to leave Doha when you did - personally, I would go and start a fresh in another Gulf State why put yourself through all this streess.

I wish you Luck.

if u went on Emergency and due to some reason u didnt came back...atleast u should have to inform ur company about ur problem for not comming....nop u r not black listed..now u just have to tell them a reasonable reason to make ur matter clear...

I dont think you have been black listed, but i think you have to cancel ur old residence permit in qatar. Try contacting your old company and ask them about this issue as well
