Anyone who imported/imports (a) car/s from the USA to Qatar?

I haven't imported a car, but we have looked into it for a few friends, and it was a pain and way expensive. You have to pay like 15% taxes on the value of your car. Your car can not be more than 3 years old. Once it gets here you have to have a new speedometer put in to read in kilometers/hour (not an option-has to be done) something about adding a modification to the emissions system. So our friends figured it would just be cheaper to buy a car here. Hope that helped.
