Advice on sponsorship and what it's like to work for hmc

By Trish14

Hi all,

I am looking for advice and guidance - I have just signed my contract for a job with hmc in Qatar, however they have made it clear that hmc will not sponsor my husband.

I have a few queries -  one being what is it like to work for hmc? How long does it normally take from signing contract to flight?

My husband has been unsuccessful in funding or being short listed for jobs out in Qatar - how easy is it to find a job for him if he was visiting me for example? Am I able to get him sponsorship once I am out in Qatar?

any advice would be really useful

thanks all

it is easy to get visa for him after u join with HMC. Immigration will ask for his passport copy and your salary statement and litter to confirm your work .

if he has experience he can easy find job.

Oooo no need for people to be mean to each other but thank you for your comments. Messages can be interpreted in many ways and I'm sure everyone was just trying to be honest and put their views across.

It's good to know that if Jon did come under my sponsorship he wouldn't be able to work - it's important for him to follow his career desires/path so fingers crossed this can be found for him in Qatar so we can be together.

The weather is raining in wales (no surprise!) so your not missing much - no doubt when I'm in Qatar I will also miss the rain and green mountains.

Best wishes to you all, have a good day

Trish xx

Trish, see what happens here when you suggest that women have brains - you are accused of being "brainwashed", presumably by the evil feminist lobby which wants us to stop seeing women as the zeros that some men here assume them to be.

Welcome to Qatar.

Hi Jasmine, nice to see you here after so long. Most of us former users of QL are essentially on reading mode these days because of threads like this. If it weren't for the bitchy and immature types like these misogynists perhaps we might come back.

Sadly Trish this reflects Qatar in general - misogynists who can't bear the thought of women having a brain. Keep that in mind when you are considering this job.

I am clever and would imagine massively senior to certain little dudes. That is actually my job, hence my knowledge in the matter.

You have not joined yet and you are worried for your husband ! ?

Is your own career not important for you ?

Whereas that nonsense is so welcoming and shows such an intelligent and broad view. Coz the world really needs a little website addicted man to tell everyone else how to live.

You lot are seriously weird. What happened to the normal people on Ql? Come back Gypsy, all is forgiven.

Humbles , I disagree with you . I am sure T14 is mature enough to take her own decisions.

J-J as usual tried to be clever but the truth neutralised her atonce .

Hope she noticed that. lol .

MM, Never mind double posts, hands tremble when one does injustice.

A good example of day dreaming @ Trish14.

Pity on Jasmine for spoiling the QL image to somebody who is new here.

Jasmine thought Trish14 won't be able to defend herself , LOL.

Hi Trish, If you are sponsored by HMC the you can be his sponsor. The only issue is that he will not be able to work while under your sponsorship and will need you to process exit permits etc for him.

Beware this site, usually just a lot of guff instead of actual information and a huge amount of misogyny.

Send my love to Wales, I miss home sometimes (but not enough to go back there)

Once you 're working here in Qatar, you can easily get a visit visa for him. For family visit visa I think he can stay here maximum 6 mons for him to find a job which can able to give him resident visa/working visa.

Yes of course my career is important but I love my husband and we want to be together. We live in wales, uk so it's a bit of a distance if I live in Qatar!

Lionel_akbar thank you for your response, he is looking for jobs but we were both worried about what would happen once I'm in Qatar. It's good to hear hmc are good to work for I've read some 'interesting' comments on this site.

Have a good day :)

To work with HMC is very good indeed, n its not really possible to say how long it would take to get on a flight but as HMC is a reputed name here in Qatar should not be very long.

And u could sponsor ur husband once u r in Qatar if u earn QR 10000 or 12000 above, but i guess it would be better to get him on a visit n then apply for sponsoring him at the same time, let him look for a job
