1. (FANAR) Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre

The Islamic Cultural Center also known as Fanar, is one of the best places to learn the Arabic language in Qatar.

The Arabic course at Fanaar is split into five levels, starting from the very basics of the alphabet because of its scripts, and progressing to a stage where the student is proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and listening.

Designed to be simple and clear the syllabus builds up the knowledge and ability of the student in gradual phases.

Each class has an interactive smart board with the teaching material given to you projected so that the teaching of each lesson is visually clear.

Details:

Duration: Three months
Level One: Teaches the Arabic alphabet, reading and writing Arabic, greetings, numbers, and the names of the days of the weeks, etc.
Level Two: One learns how to construct sentences, and how to express themselves properly.
Level Three: Improve four faculties; reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Level four: Arabic grammar.
Level five: Literature and cultural aspect of the Arabic language

For registration, you will need a filled-in application form (available from the reception on the ground floor or download from here), 2 copies or Qatar ID or passport, 2 passport sized photographs

The registration process can be done at the center.

2. Doha Institute for Graduate studies

The Language Center at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has opened its doors for registration in Arabic language courses for non-native speakers, for the first semester this year.

The language center offers three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Classes will start on September 6, 2020, and are to be held twice a week for one and a half hours per class.

Beginning Arabic I-II

This course supports students in developing strong communication skills in Arabic. Beginning with a focus on reading, pronouncing, and recognizing Arabic sounds, the course progresses quickly toward developing intermediate reading, writing, speaking, and listening proficiency as well as cultural competence. By the end of the course, students are able to communicate with others about daily life topics, understand simple texts on familiar topics, and to actively use a vocabulary of approximately 600 words.'

Intermediate Arabic I-II

This course introduces students to various topics in Arab culture in order to expand language skills, advance vocabulary acquisition, and build toward Intermediate High proficiency in all skills. Coursework focuses on helping students master and activate large amounts of vocabulary and utilize the root and pattern system to increase fluency and accuracy in communication. Students learn to develop their reading and listening strategies enabling them to comprehend the main ideas of authentic texts.

Advanced Arabic I-II

This course aims at helping students reach advanced proficiency in Arabic through language and content work focused on Arab history, literature, thought, and other cultural manifestations. The focus is on developing active control of a large vocabulary and idiomatic expressions through communicative activities. Grammatical work focuses on complex grammatical constructions and demands increased accuracy in understanding and producing complex structures in extended discourse.

3. Qatar University

The Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center – Languages, Communication, and Translation Cluster, CAS in QU is a specialized language center that offers certificates of completion to international students whose mother tongue is not Arabic.

Every year the center offers six language levels from Beginners I up to Advanced II. Applicants can be enrolled as full fee-paying students or nominees from educational or cultural institutions that have signed agreements with Qatar University.

All applicants to the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers center who meet the following minimum criteria will be qualified for applying to Qatar University:

  1. Must have a minimum of a high school diploma. (University graduates are preferred).
  2. Must be between 18 and 40 years of age.
  3. Was not granted a scholarship to study in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers center previously.
  4. Must have at least basic knowledge of the Arabic language (Modern Standard Arabic). Good command of the alphabet is essential.
  5. Applicants to the ANNS center should be able to communicate either in English or Arabic with the administration of the university and the university community.

4. Excellence Training Centre

The spoken Arabic course is a personalized course and will focus on communicative functions required in the day-to-day language such as greetings and getting to know people, asking and answering essential questions, numbers, and other topics that help for a better understanding of the society. In this course, all the above mentioned is written by transliteration:  Arabic word written in English letters.

6. Loghati Center

Loghati center is a linguistic educational center for languages, specializing in teaching the Arabic language and establishing its roots for native speakers and non-native.

Loghati Centre's Arabic for foreign learners program targets foreign learners of Arabic from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. 

The purpose of the program is that the learner communicates with Arab speakers in different life situations including situations of looking for accommodation or at restaurants among others.

This program is presented in levels:
• Beginner level: first- second- third
• Intermediate level: first- second- third
• Advanced level: first- second- third
