If you are really planning to own a pet, you must realize that this is a huge responsibility, and it needs a lot of care and attention from your side.

There are a lot of things to remember when preparing to get a pet, such as reading and watching a lot of videos before you own the pet. In addition, you must find if you are qualified enough to own this pet, and if you have the full-time responsibility and the budget to face the costs involved. All of this is considered as a plan to make you ready for the pet.

If you have never owned a pet before, this means that you need to watch a lot of videos on how to deal with your future pet and you must sit with some specialist or go and volunteer with one of the rescuing shelters to help abandoned animals.

If you are completely convinced you are able to own a pet, then the best way to do so in Qatar is through adoption, rather than you buy one. However, you need to keep in mind that the animals from the shelters faced many traumatizing issues and it won’t be that simple as you think. It may need you to have a specialist or a professional trainer later.

After you see if you are fit to own a pet, you need to keep in mind that the animal’s shelters in Qatar will interview you with some questions about living arrangements and some other details of the place you are living in, your time and your work responsibilities.

Once you answer the questions, they will give you a final answer and inform you with their decision whether you are suitable to adopt and animal or not.

The next step is where to adopt the pet, as there are many shelters for animals in Qatar, where you can adopt a pet from.

There are a lot of shelters in Qatar, but we will mention some of them in this article:

2nd Chance Rescue:

2nd Chance Rescue it is a non-profit organization that provides the animals a second chance to live a new life with a forever home. It was founded in 2009 and it is a 'solo' rescue mission conducted by its founder, Abdulla Al-Naemi, to help a family of abandoned puppies he found. Six years later, Abdulla's vision has transformed from a simple rescue case into a full-scale Animal Shelter.
