How to find out Car Mileage is accurate?(Clocked or Reset to Zero

By Shajlan Marzook •
I am going to buy a Nissan Altima, 2007, but what I am afraid of is, the Mileage is ONLY 59,000KM.
Is there any chance he could have clocked the Meter to Zero and having a low mileage to have a good price for his car? Is there any ways that I can check that out properly?
Thanks
Asim is right go with his sugessions.
Some more addition from my personal experience
While testing car please check is there are any vibrations, tyre sound, engine sound inside cabin when all glasses are up /closed.
Usually car once driven more than 100K will have these issues.
You can check steering color(silver or golden color), If car is used more than 100K km then this paint will fade or peeled off.
If car is driven 59K then acceleration should be silk smooth....
its not the computer box...its just the odometer that needs to be altered.
giving a benefit of the doubts. maybe the owner has to many cars and it hasn't use frequently that's why it has a low mileage. And as for odometer, there is also a possibility that it was tampered by someone knowledgeable on that. computer box of a car can be altered for sure, unlike of the black boxes of an airplane which is fully sealed.
odometer can be reset easily to any number of ur preference...and yes that's illegal!!
rewinding of odometer is illegal as a way of cheating..however in order to verify the current mileage of any car for sale, ask the owner to show the maintenance book.
Ist of all the car should be owned by single person and supposedly if this is not the case, car must have been maintained from Nissan. Last but not the least, check with Nissan about its last service done @ what mileage... Best of luck.
