Will the working visa come through eventually?
Hello everyone,
I also have some questions about the working visa.
I have been waiting for the entry employment visa for 6 weeks now. My employer is very kind, and keeps me updated every week however with the same answer: still waiting.
I read most of the Q&As here, and find various reasons for the visa delay. Please can someone kindly help me with the below:
1. Has anyone who waited for a long time eventually received the entry visa at the end? Is it just a matter of the time of waiting? If so, what is the maximum waiting time?
2. Will the Labour Department reject the visa application, if the quota for a certain nationality reached 80%?
3. Given the current sitation in the job market in the UK, I can't affrod to wait for very long. If I call off the application, will I give any trouble to myself and to my employer?

I have been waiting for 6 weeks to get my entry visa.
May I know what is the matter for you until you wait that much long?

@Nicyjen, in my case it is valid for 6 months.
I received the visa after I urged the HR to chase. Perhaps you can try to give your HR some pressure too.

@JJX. Congrats. Shall I know what is the validity of Entry Visa period currently. Its 3 months?.
Updates from me: I received my entry visa yesterday . So it is 7 weeks waiting.
@Nicyjen, 4 months! that's a very long waiting. This is un-transparent part of the recruitment process, and unfair too.

Hi, I am also waiting more than 4months. Still the same answer as "IN PROCESS". May be Visas are not issued very easily and it is purely depend upon the nature of work and contracts, I guess. Lets hope the best soon.
