One friend brought parents in law on arrival visa.

1. Father in law was having debit card in his name.

2. Return ticket

3. QID of son or in law including spouse for confirming name of father.

4. Address of son in law , better if copy of house rent agreement

My relativearrived qatar after 11th Nov

(ie on 17 December 2018...)

Please find below what he had:

1) Hotel booking for 3 days (Which had free cancellation... I cancelled after he arrive)

2) Debit card in his Name

3) Return ticket with 1 month gap

4)Passport valid for more than 6 months

Airport immigration in India asked for Both Hotel booking and Debit Card.....

In Qatar Immigration they asked which hotel you will be staying ? He quickly told the hotel name and they stamped visa for one month. (He had print out of Hotel booking..but they didnt ask for it)

Luckily I was able to extend visa for 2 Months.

Can't we book hotels online and cancel later after relatives/ friends arrive as many hotels are offering free cancellation

As no clear statement & Requirements for the family on arrival visa, Finally applied as a Visit visa..

This confusion needs to be cleared, 3 days passed already ............... .......................................

Looks like the visa on arrival did not have the desired effect. ie, generating revenue for the country, atleast not to the extend expected.

Most families arrive and stay at shared accommodation. Hotels not making money. Hence the one month visit and hotel stay. The Credit card for Indians, may prove to be another hindrance as most do not have a Credit Card.

Guys, since this is a new rule, no one knows what will happen at immigration. Best option for now is either to clarify with Immigration department walking into visa service center or follow the rules as mentioned. Do not take unofficial advises and prevent hassles at immigration.
