Has the date for opening to foreigners been finalized by Qatar?
I saw this on the Daily News from the UK (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-8383571/WHERE-tourists-travel-2020-country-country-coronavirus-lockdown-eases.html). In it, the article indicates that Qatar is planning to open its borders to foreigners on June 10, 2020 similar to Bahrain.
I do not know whether this is true and would like members of the forum to confirm its veracity. I am attaching a snip from the site also.
Thanks.
As per the information from this link: https://www.thepeninsulaqatar.com/article/08/06/2020/Qatar-to-ease-COVID-19-restrictions-in-four-phases
From June 15, 2020, trips outside Qatar in cases of extreme necessity and everyone who returns to Doha will be subjected to hotel quarantine on their personal expense for a full two weeks.
From August 2020, low-risk inbound flights for priority passengers like returning residents.
Unfortunately there has been no dates released as of yet.
No one knows for sure yet. Nothing is confirmed.
Also, I wouldn't rely on the Daily Mail for reliable information.
Concerning the countries who are members of the European Union, they will be able to enter EU member countries from the June dates onward. If you come from a Non-EU country the dates don't apply.
Check with the Qatar Embassy in your country. Travel agents may also be knowing.
