
Qatar clinches gold in quadruple event at World Parachuting Championships

Qatar’s parachute jump team, under the Qatar Air Sports Committee, claimed the gold medal in the quadruple entanglement event at the World Parachuting Championships.
The championship, hosted by Russia, is currently underway in Tanay with the participation of teams representing as many as 30 countries.
The Qatari team builds on the distinguished results it achieved in the first day events of the championship with the team winning second place in the dual sequential event and the third position in the 4-way rotation event.
Yesterday, Abdullah Hani, Saeed Al Kuwari, Hassan Al Malki, Ali Al Marri and Saleh Al Kuwari, part of the Qatari Quadruple Interlocking Team, claimed first place with 151 points in the quadruple entanglement event.
The team from Russia secured second place with 147 points and was awarded the silver medal.
The bronze medal went to the Belarusian team that came third with 135 points.

Additionally, the "Sconshell A" team representing Qatar won the silver medal in the duo suncchel event at the championship with a total of 220 points. "Frane A" team got the gold after securing first place with 243 points.
His Excellency Major General Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee, Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri dedicated the team's accomplishments to the wise leadership and the people of Qatar.
He underlined that Team Qatar's winning of the gold medal for the first time in the history of the four-way entanglement with parachute "Rotation" is a highly impressive and significant achievement.
Vice-Chairman of the Qatar Air Sports Committee Abdullah Hamad Al-Athba said, "We dedicate this achievement to the Qatari people. In this tournament, we have won three colorful gold, silver and bronze medals. The gold came for the four-way parachute entanglement team, and silver for the duos scouting team. Bronze for the Quadruple Cohesion Team." He attributed this great win to the great efforts put in this area over several years.
Four teams from Qatar are competing in the ongoing world championships, which run until August 21, 2021.
The Qatari parachute squad is one of the greatest in the world and the world's largest nighttime parachute formation team.
The team has put on excellent air show formations and is predicted to do well at the 2021 World Parachuting Championships.
This competition takes place before the CISM World Military Parachuting Championship (WMPC), which will be held in Doha from November 15 to 30.
