India’s Aditi Ashok wins inaugural Qatar ladies Open Tour event
India’s young and upcoming talent Aditi Ashok clinched the inaugural Qatar Ladies Open at the Doha Golf Club yesterday.
It was her second consecutive win on the Ladies European Tour, after the Indian Open triumph earlier this month.
In the fourth round, Aditi shot a 3-under 69 to take her total score to 15-under 273. It was three shots clear of Sweden’s second-placed Caroline Hedwall.
Aditi was in joint 15th position after round one. In the second, she scored her best-ever career round — six-under 66 — to improve to joint third. She then took the lead in the third round, ending as tied-first along with Denmark’s Nanna Koerstz.
At present, the Indian girl is the leading contender for the Ladies European Tour's Rookie of the year award after four top-10 finishes and two wins in her first year on tour. She had also recently taken part in the Rio Olympic Games.
Congratulations, Aditi.
