CONCACAF Champions League winners Tigres UANL arrive in Qatar for FIFA Club World Cup

Mexican side Tigres UANL, winners of the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League, touched down in Qatar on Saturday ahead of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Upon arrival, players and officials underwent COVID-19 testing at the airport before departing for their designated hotel.
Tigres, who defeated American side Los Angeles FC 2-1 in the CONCACAF Champions League final in Orlando in December, will enter the FIFA Club World Cup at the second-round stage.
They will take on AFC Champions League winners Ulsan Hyundai FC of the Korea Republic on 4 February at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium – one of two FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 venues being used during the tournament.
Victory for Tigres would secure a semi-final showdown with the CONMEBOL Libertadores champions on 7 February at Education City Stadium.
Brazilian clubs SE Palmeiras and Santos FC will contest the Copa Libertadores final on 30 January for the chance to join the tournament in Qatar.
Last-minute tickets for the FIFA Club World Cup – including Tigres’ opening game against Ulsan Hyundai FC – are available for purchase.
The FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020, presented by Alibaba Cloud, will take place from 4-11 February 2021.
Six teams will compete in the tournament: Al Duhail SC (host country representatives), FC Bayern München (UEFA), Tigres UANL (CONCACAF), Al Ahly SC (CAF), Ulsan Hyundai FC (AFC) and SE Palmeiras or Santos FC (CONMEBOL).
