On National Sport Day (NSD) 2017, over 100,000 people are projected to pay a visit to Katara Cultural Village to participate in and enjoy the different sporting events and activities that are part of Katara’s NSD line-up.

Since the NSD started in 2012, Katara has played an important role in the celebration of this national holiday by organizing a wide range of activities for the general public. This year, too, Katara has organized over 80 different sports and fitness activities catering to people of all ages, in partnership with a number of different institutions and sports federations from all over Qatar, as reported by The Peninsula.

This year’s theme is “Show the Game Skills and will include sports activities like each handball, football, basketball, tennis, cycling, chess, a number of water games, and a whole lot more. There will also be a parade of beautiful horses, along with special booths set up offering health and fitness tips and medical check-ups for the general public.

In 2016, Katara witnessed the presence of 140,000 visitors on NSD, and looks forward to a bigger number this year.
