Al Duhail gets Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho on loan
Al Duhail has sealed a season-long transfer of the Brazilian star player Phillipe Coutinho from Aston Villa F.C., which marks a phenomenal growth for the Qatar Stars League champions team. Coutinho signed the transfer deal on Friday in the presence of Al Duhail Club Vice President, Khalifa Khamis at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.
The Brazilian footballer has earlier been on loan for one season to the Premier League Club, following his loan still from Barcelona last year. His impressive stint made him finally switch permanently to Aston Villa for $21 million.
Al Duhail quoted on their website about Coutinho’s presence as a distinguished player and his ability to make a mark with his previous professional experiences. “His joining the team is a great asset ahead of entering the AFC Champions League Fixtures”, remarked Al Duhail.
Coutinho also underwent a hamstring injury at the 4-0 victory against Everton in August, marking his final appearance for the club.
Aston Villa FC stated, “Aston Villa can confirm Philippe Coutinho has completed a season-long loan move to Al Duhail. The Brazilian signed for Villa on loan initially in January 2022 and immediately sparkled in claret and blue, scoring on his debut against Manchester United. His impressive performances would later see his move to Villa Park from Barcelona turn permanent, and he has made 43 appearances for the club, scoring six goals.”
