World championship brings boxing action to Doha
Have you heard about the Championships that will be held by AIBA in Qatar in the upcoming month of October?
The World Amateur Boxing Championship is a biennial amateur boxing competition organized by the International Boxing Association (AIBA), which is the sport governing body.
Alongside the Olympic boxing programme, it is the highest level of competition for the sport.
The championships was first held in 1974 Havana, Cuba as a men's only event and the first women's championships was held over 25 years later in 2001.
The men's and women's competitions are held separately and since 2006 the biennial championships have been held in alternating years.
The 2015 World Amateur Boxing Championships will be held at the Lusail Multi-Purpose Sports Hall in Doha, Qatar from 5 to 18 October, 2015.

Bulgaria, Ghana, India, Mexico, Turkey, Uganda, Poland, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Cuba, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Australia, Philippines, Dominican Republic, United States, Ireland, England, Argentina, Tajiskistan, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Japan and Netherlands.
